Joe Stout is Executive Director for the Westchester Parks Foundation. He discussed the history of the many parks and recreational facilities in our county. Joe demonstrated why these parks need our help with donantions and/or volunteering.

Our annual Casino Night was organized by Peter Palma, Tom Watson, and Peter McCartt. Games included blackjack, craps, roulette, and poker. The proceeds benefited the Eastchester Police Benevolent Association.

Frank DiMarco is the Superintendent of the Tuckahoe Department of Public Works. He discussed the work his department does and his various initiatives to improve the quality of life in our community. Frank showed pictures of the various projects the Tuckahoe DPW staff completed themselves, rather than subcontracting out.

Tyler LaCorata is Head Distiller at StilltheOne Distillery in Port Chester. He spoke about how he became a distiller, how StilltheOne whiskey is made, and why it’s so unique. Tyler discussed his special partnership with Broken Bow Brewery. The whiskey was sampled and made available for purchase at discounted prices.

Stephen Segarra is a piano tuner who restored the antique piano in the Barn. He talked about his craft and told stories about some of his famous clients. After the talk Stephen performed an accompaniment to the silent movie “Steamboat Bill Jr.” with Buster Keaton. We experienced a film as people did in 1928 with a piano built in 1905.

Maurice Elmalem is a 7 Time World Champion, 5 Time Guiness World Record holder, and 7 Time U.S. Cup Gold Medallist. He was awarded “World Champion Greatest Martial Arts Daredevil” by Chuck Norris. Jun Hak Pae is a Taekwondo master, Tae-kyun 2nd generation master, Kung-Fu master, Korean Swordsmanship master, Chi-gong master, and teacher at Black Belt Martial Arts Center in Eastchester. Master Elmalem and Master Pae discussed their journeys and offerred some pointers from the art of Taekwondo.

Neil Porto is a Civil War buff. He brought his colleague Charles, a Civil War re-enactor who was fully decked out in period costume. Neil and Charles discussed their passion for the history of our country’s bloodiest conflict. They talked about the various battlefields, the generals on both sides, and posed some thought provoking questions.

Dr. Edward Cardillo is a clinical psychologist who works with individuals with Down Syndrome, children and teens on the autism spectrum, and the elderly (including World War II vets). Ed shared some interesting stories from events over the course of his career.
