Welcome to Ben’s Barn blog, the online gathering spot for the denizens of the legendary Deerfield Barn. Check back often for continued discussions of the topics presented on the barn night, links to great related blogs and websites, and previews of upcoming gatherings. You might find the playlist from the Barn Band or a review of certain brand of wine or beer. We may get into books, movies, and even politics. Or we may not. Just like at the barn, the idea is to hang out and enjoy good company in a hazy, smoke-filled room without the interruption of our daily lives. Suggestions welcome. Comments demanded. Let comity reign.
Barn Night Details
Barn Nights take place monthly, always on a Friday. The barn is located behind the house at 41 Deerfield. The doors open at 8pm, so feel free to come by, grab a beer, shoot some pool or darts or watch the ball game. The presentations start at 9pm and go for about an hour. Afterwards you can hang out and jam with or listen to the Barn Band. For the die hards there's usually a "wrap up" at around 2am where we share our thoughts on the presentation and get into deep, controversial discussions. There's a donantion box for you to drop in a minimum of $20 to help offset the cost of the event.-
